Unreal

***Pregnancy Discussed***

Today I am 6weeks 3days (6w3d).  I passed another milestone yet it doesn't seem real.  I had my first ultrasound this afternoon and I'm happy to report that there is ONE baby growing in my tummy and it has a heartbeat (doctor estimated it started beating in the last day or so, said it was about 115bpm)!!!

I was extremely relieved but I still don't really believe it.  Now that the babe has been visually confirmed, I need to work on accepting that I'm actually pregnant.  My symptoms are so mild, which I know I should be so thankful about, that I worry... while in my head I know that I'm doubly blessed to be pregnant AND have mild symptoms (other than the major gas incident of Thanksgiving... lesson learned... don't drink a whole bottle of sparkling ANYTHING while pregnant).

In the last year I've transferred 10 embryos over a total of three (fresh) ET's and finally one stuck around.  It's hard to believe we finally found my ONE GOOD EGG!

But I'll work on it.

As I continue to cheer on my infertile sisters... because if it can work for me...

Mom emailed this to me today.  So true.

  3. I so understand where you are coming from, I have my first appointment on thursday. While I know I'm pregnant, I still can't grasp the concept, and I'm also paranoid that my symptoms are too mild. Glad you had a good doctor's visit!

  5. Hooray for a wonderful little heartbeat!

I sometimes feel like it's unreal for me, too, even though my little guy is 6 months old. :)

  6. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. i'm only about 4 weeks or so, and I just went in for my blood test today (results tomorrow), but I've had six positive pregnancy tests done over three different days. And I have some symptoms. And I STILL can't believe it! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hope you don't mind if I "borrow" the cartoon your mom sent... I love it!

  7. I have only three weeks left to go - and I still can hardly believe it. I am so happy for your good news. Just remember that every day you can feel entirely different and that's normal!

  8. I still barely feel like I've even been pregnant and J is almost ten months. It just doesn't feel like it.

  11. My pregnancy symptoms didn't really show up until 7-8 weeks. So hang on girl, you probably got some coming your way. :)

  12. such wonderful news!!! yeah, those pregnancy symptoms will show up soon... and then you'll freak out on the days that they are more mild, or at least I always did. What a crazy ride this desire-to-reproduce thing is.

  15. That first heartbeat is a truly wonderful moment. It's so true - and so maddening - that all it takes is that ONE good egg. For some this egg appears at their first IUI; for others it's years of intensive treatments. I want to screen print a onesie for my son that says "all it took was one good egg". Glad you caught yours!

  18. Congrats, isn't the heartbeat the most amazing thing to see?? And just one is a relief, I'm sure. :)

Don't worry too much about lack of symptoms. They may come later or not at all, and not having any has no correlation with the health of the baby. I never had true morning sickness, just some mild food aversion, and I had a perfectly healthy baby, as have many others. I did have some fatigue in the first trimester, more like in the second half of the first trimester, and ended up going to bed quite early most nights as a result. But it wasn't so bad I couldn't function. Second tri I felt pretty normal - no sudden bursts of energy, just better than before - and third was all about achy hips and heartburn. I have a feeling that you'll be getting some pregnancy symptoms at some point, and it will feel more "real" when you do (not to mention when the ultrasound blob turns into a baby shape) - but for now, enjoy not feeling bad!

  19. So so happy for you, BB! Seeing the heartbeat is such an awesome moment - one you'll never forget :) It will slowly sink in over the next 9 months that it's totally real - you really are having a baby! I felt like I was faking it until I was about 8 months pregnant :)

    Big, big hug!!

  20. I hated that period between finding out your pregnant and truly feeling pregnant. I don't remember exactly when it became real for me, but it did and it will for you too.

Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones with only minor symptoms.
