No, that's not a beta number. It's the NUMBER OF INJECTIONS that I've completed over 15 days of Stims for this (now) IUI cycle.
Oh, how times have changed... I was recently reminiscing with my RN friend, the same friend who insisted on staying with me after IVF2.0 transfer - along with her family, about my first IUI when I drove 30 minutes to her house for my first EVER trigger shot. And then how proud I was of myself when I was able to do my first EVER self-injection. Who knew???
Somebody check with Guinness... I think this must be a world record number of injections for an IUI.
PS... trigger was tonight. I've got 5 or 6 follies between 17 - 21 at this time. IUI on Sunday.
83. Damn, that's a lot of shots! I really hope this disappointing cycle ends with a surprise BFP and you can cancel your appointment with CCRM.
ReplyDeleteThe number makes me hurt just thinking about it. Pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteWhile I hope this IUI is Very successful - my gift to you, is that I hope you don't get quintuplets - that might be just One too many!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a lot of shots.
ReplyDeleteJust curious: did your RE give you the option of going to retrieval? I know many clinics--including the 2 I used--won't do IUIs with 5+ mature follicles.
Best wishes!!!!
Good luck!! And yes, that is a lot for an IUI!! I was well over 83 for my IVF cycles. But then again I was on super (duper) high doses which require 2 to 3 shots each time to get the proper dose.
ReplyDeleteI also remember the 1st time I gave myself a shot. I was at work and went into the bathroom. When I came out I felt like Rocky!!
Good Good Good Luck!!
There are so many things I remember thinking would be tough and them they quickly became 'typical' in this journey!! Hopefully this wil be the last round of shots for you and you will be on to a new challenge!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I think nothing of slamming a myriad of shots into myself and laugh when people say something about how hard that must be. It's literally become nothing in my world.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and wanted to say hello and GOOD LUCK!
ReplyDeleteVery best wishes for today
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, that's a lot of shots! Sending good vibes to you!!
